We were very excited to be invited to provide the technical support for the Ideal Home Show, Home of the Future. It allowed us to bring our show automation skills to a different environment to our normal area of expertise. In London the organisers had created a beautiful stage set into the Olympic swimming pool in the middle of Earls Court and we were asked to provide the Sound, Lighting and Video to complete the stage. The Glasgow stage was a smaller scaled down version of the London stage, with a few tweaks.

Technical Highlights
The stage brought together several different building technology suppliers more used to installing there products in a residential home than in the bottom of a Olympic swimming pool. Trying to get the whole system working from one control position was a interesting challenge. We chose to use Qlab for the lighting sound and video, as the scripted nature of the show allowed us to carefully collate all of the media into one set of media servers, and midi trigger both lights and video from one machine.
