This Morning Live 2017
Congo Blue were asked to provide the Main Stage at the inaugural This Morning Live exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, the hit ITV show’s first venture into the live event world. We provided our full design solution including staging, scenic, and tech, as well as sending our highly professional and experienced team to operate the high-profile, high-pressure event.

The Design
The Main Stage was designed to look like it had been plucked straight of the This Morning studio, with the familiar gold pillars, illuminated panels, and even the window onto the Thames making an appearance! The catwalk cut through the seating area, allowing the talent and catwalk models to interact freely with the audience and make them part of the action.
The main panels were made from a print-quality fabric to give them a consistent colour and reflective quality across the 80 square metres of panel face, which also allowed the outside panels to double as excellent projection screens. Congo Blue’s scenic carpentry team utilised our CNC router to help construct the iconic pillars which perfectly framed the stage area.

Lighting
The entrances to the stage were brought to life with gold panels backlit by our RGB LED tape. In conjunction with our Robe Robin 600 LED washes and Prolights StudioCob LED pars we were able to set the mood and produce dynamic lighting effects to compliment the talent and fashion shows on stage.

Audio
Congo Blue employed our d&b Y Series to great effect, delivering amazing quality sound to the huge audiences which crowded the stage. 10 ways of Sennheiser radio microphone meant that we were never without the means to accommodate both the talent on stage and guests

Video
Our 3.9mm video wall provided the perfect backdrop to the stage, allowing us to give the illusion of the studio looking out over the River Thames. In reality it was a cleverly looped video, but the high-resolution screen certainly fooled most! Two cameras operated by Congo Blue fed live catwalk and talent action to the large projection screens, ensuring the crowd never missed a single moment.
