Congo Blue were delighted to be asked to help out on next retail product training event for a second season in a row. The event is the largest set build job in the Congo Blue Calendar with 4 Artics of set alone! Plus another 3 of technical and 2 of seating and furniture!!

The Main Conference
For the main presentation we designed and built a giant conference set to present to 1000 delegates, this season a Japanese theme led to a traditional design with some hidden secrets!
The opening sequence for the conference saw the rear of the set split in two and reveal a larger than life Samurai Warrior who mystically floated through the set and onto the stage! In reality, we used our 6m long travellator built into the stage and pumped dry ice across the floor to hide the mechanism, but when it was performed and lit beautifully to the music we chose and edited the scene was quite magical!

The Party and setting the stage for Boy George!
The final part of our involvement was to work with Patrick Donoghue, who had the un-enviable job of turning our set design into a high-end club environment for the evening’s party! The end result was stunning with some amazing features designed by Patrick, clouds of Lanterns and a skyline of Tokyo at night created a perfect environment for DJ Boy George to whip the crowds into a frenzy!
Even the DJ booth was styled to match using our low resolution LED panels to show a custom animation we created, turning the well-known high St. Logo into a Tokyo Square neon!

Breakout Rooms
The preproduction for the breakout spaces is quite intense, with months set aside to build and refurbish over 450 set panels, to create bespoke shops within the venues large spaces. A team of almost 40 are utilised over 4 build days to provide the infrastructure for displaying the coming season’s products to the store managers in a 1 day event!
As well as the walls, we also provide ceilings, stages and fully controllable lighting and sound systems for 11 sessions of product training that all happen simultaneously!
